About 40 miles north of Manhattan’s Times Square, the Croton River feeds into New York State’s Hudson River. The confluence occurs just south of Croton-on-Hudson’s major rail depot where the old New York Central Railroad once switched from steam to electric engines to send the commuter line off to Grand Central Terminal.
